CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Next Wave Preparedness

Next Wave Preparedness was founded by CEO/Owner Emily Kaster in 2025 after more than a decade of experience in emergency management. As a woman-owned consulting firm, Next Wave Preparedness helps organizations strengthen their resilience by identifying and prioritizing risks, developing response plans, and conducting training and exercises to test readiness.

Emily has worked with organizations from coast to coast and is now building a strong presence in Maine. Through her work, she currently supports local municipalities and housing authorities with needs assessments and strategic planning to enhance emergency response capabilities.

Next Wave Preparedness first partnered with the EMDC’s Maine APEX Accelerator to obtain certification as an SBA Woman-Owned Small Business. Since then, Emily has continued working with Maine APEX to build a strong foundation for government contracting readiness. She is now focused on expanding connections with local government agencies, school districts, and other organizations to support their emergency preparedness efforts.
